East Farmingdale, NY- Thousands of travelers were stranded this weekend as airlines cancelled thousands of flights. According to USA Today, “over 19,000 flights affected since Thursday… with 3,000 flights cancelled on Sunday”. Airlines blamed the cancellations on weather and staffing shortages. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg says he’s pushing airlines to hire more customer-service agents and take other steps to help travelers this summer.
