Hofstra University is suing the Nassau County Planning Commission over the lease of the Nassau Hub to Las Vegas Sands.
The university says the planning commission violated the state’s open meeting laws in March by failing to notify the public of a hearing to consider the casino proposal.
Hofstra has come out against the plan to build a casino, citing concerns about increased traffic congestion, crime, and economic harm to local businesses.
