Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone told News 12 yesterday that he does not know of any plans to bus migrants in New York City out to Suffolk County, Adding that if that were to happen the county would need to handle it in a “responsible and humane way.”
So far, New York City officials say they have taken care of 65,000 asylum seekers and are now overwhelmed.
On Tuesday the Riverhead town supervisor issued a state of emergency because she believed migrants were headed there.
