George Santos has named himself the treasurer of his own campaign committee according to documents from the Federal Election Commission. He has also listed himself as “custodian of records.”

This comes after the congressman’s treasurer resigned from the position earlier this year.

It has been over a week since Rep. Santos was indicted on federal charges, including wire fraud, to which he pleaded not guilty.

Santos defended the move on Twitter saying it was to ensure compliance and that he will “continue to build our campaign around professionals with subject matter expertise.”
