Another sinkhole caused issues on Long Island’s South Shore over the weekend.
Officials say an underground water main pipe erupted and caused Foxhurst Road in Oceanside to buckle.
Crews repaired the road and reopened the road
The sinkhole was the third street to open up in Nassau County within the past two months.
In June, a burst sewer line causing a massive sinkhole in Baldwin that sent sewage spilling into some homeowners’ backyards and a 20-foot-deep sinkhole also opened on Lido Boulevard due to an underground manhole failure a few weeks earlier.
Some residents say they are concerned that the county’s underground infrastructure is too old to keep up with its current demand.
