Massapequa Park won the Little League Softball World Series on Sunday afternoon.
Massapequa Park beat North Carolina 5-2 to win the title. The world champs took an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first thanks to Abigail Long’s two-run RBI, and then added another in the second. North Carolina finally answered with two runs in the top of the third to cut the lead in half.
In the bottom of the fourth, Massapequa added one more run, to solidify its 5-2 win and take the crown. Texas (Southwest) defeated Connecticut (New England) 5-1 for the bronze.
