Officials say swimming is prohibited at all South Shore ocean beaches due to Hurricane Franklin.
Dangerous rip currents are being churned up by the hurricane that is off shore to the south of Long Island.
State parks officials say they’re monitoring the situation very closely to see if swimming will be banned through the upcoming Labor Day weekend.
