Today is the 22nd anniversary of the September 11th attacks. In addition to the ceremonies being held today in New York City, Washington DC and Pennsylvania, ceremonies are being held across Long Island.
Town of Hempstead
The Town of Hempstead is holding their annual September 11th Sunrise Memorial Service. Victims and rescue workers and first responders who died that day will be honored at Town Park at Point Lookout. 1300 Lido Blvd, Point Lookout 7:30 a.m.
Seaford
Seaford will hold a candlelight ceremony to remember all victims of the attacks at 1575 Seaman’s Neck Road, Seaford 6:55 p.m.
Town of North Hempstead
The Town of North Hempstead annual 9/11 Memorial Service. The service will take place at the memorial, which features a 19-foot-long steel beam that was taken from the World Trade Center at Manhasset Valley Park. East Shore Rd and Northern Blvd. 8:15 a.m.
Town of Islip
The Town will be holding their annual Memorial Ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park, Islip Town Hall, 655 Main St., Islip. 5:00 p.m.
Town of Babylon
The Town of Babylon Fire Chief’s Association will be partnering with the Town of Babylon for their annual 9/11 Memorial Ceremony. A moment of silence will take place, between Overlook and Cedar Beaches. 6:00 p.m.
