New York House Republicans introduced a resolution Wednesday to expel Rep. George Santos from Congress.
Santos was indicted this week on federal charges accusing him of stealing thousands from his own campaign donors.
The legislation to expel Santos was introduced by Rep. Anthony D’Esposito and backed by Rep. Nick LaLota and other Republicans from New York’s congressional delegation.
A two-thirds vote in Congress would be required to remove Santos from office.
