There is a flood watch for most of the area with 2-3 inches of rain expected to fall in about a 12-hour window. It will be very windy with gusts up to 60 mph, heavy downpour for NYC area through midday Monday. Winds will be sustained at 25 to 35 mph through the Monday morning commute with gusts over 50 mph possible. Flooding is expected from strong storms during the commute. 2-3″ is expected in Nassau County with 2″ in Suffolk.
Tides on the South Shore and East End will be up to 3 feet higher than usual.
