Humane Long Island says it has confiscated 100 animals from a North Bellmore home.
The animals removed included an ostrich, a giant African snail, quail, reptiles, turtles and prairie dogs. They were found in the house’s backyard and basement.
The Department of Environmental Conservation is pressing charges against the man who lives at the home, who was issued 30 violations relating to illegal possession of animals.
The animals are being moved to sanctuaries.
