Stony Brook University names new interim president

Stony Brook University has named Richard McCormick as its new interim president. He will start on Aug. 1.
He succeeds Maurie McInnis who became president of Yale earlier this month.
McCormick served as Rutger’s president and as the president of the University of Washington.
Stony Brook hopes to have a permanent leader in place by the 2025-2026 academic year.
