A groundbreaking ceremony was held Wednesday to start construction of Sunrise Wind, New York’s largest offshore wind project, located approximately 30 miles east of Montauk.
Once completed the 924-megawatt project by the Danish wind developer Orsted will provide enough clean energy to power approximately 600,000 New York homes.
