Big Lots will start going-out-of-business sales at its stores after a bankruptcy court-approved deal to sell the company’s assets fell through. Big Lots has 960 stores, including four remaining on Long Island — in Copiague, Hicksville, Holbrook and West Babylon
Party City told corporate employees in a meeting Friday that they would be “winding down” operations immediately. The retailer had more than 700 stores in North America with 14 stores on Long Island.
Big Lots and Party City stores have announced they are going out of business.
