National Grid workers approve strike authorization 

Unionized National Grid workers, whose contract expires at midnight on Feb. 13 voted to authorize a strike if a new pact isn’t reached by then.
The union represents nearly 1,200 National Grid workers.
National Grid serves around 600,000 customers on Long Island.
