39 & One Inc., the FDNY Lt Chris Raguso Foundation, is pleased to announce that the 2025 Goosefest music festival fundraiser will be held on Saturday May 17th at Sand City South, located at 150 S. Wellwood Avenue in Lindenhurst, just a block south of the LIRR trestle. It is a rain or shine event and will be held both indoors and outdoors in weather-protected tents.
Goosefest 2025 is the sixth annual festival to honor the life of first responder Commack FD and FDNY Lt Chris Raguso, a Commack resident who died in the line-of duty while serving his country as a USAF Special Missions Combat Search & Rescue aviator. This tragedy occurred on March 15, 2018, the day after Chris’ 39th birthday, when USAF MSgt Chris Raguso and six other brave airmen perished while flying a night mission near the Iraq/Syrian border during Operation Inherent Resolve, the war against ISIS. Lt Chris saved hundreds of lives during his career and we continue his mission with the money raised at Goosefest, which is redistributed to many worthy recipients.
This year’s event will feature continuous music from 8 bands and will run from 11:30am through 10pm. For the $50 admission price, event attendees will get free beer from local breweries and free wine from local wineries, in addition to a special 4-pack of 6th Wave IPA beer made in his honor. All children under 12 accompanied by a paying
adult get in for free. There will be multiple raffles, face-painting, balloon-making and other family-friendly activities for the kids and plenty of fun and good times for all, as we honor the legacy of Lt Chris Raguso and his many life-saving accomplishments.
Tickets are available at the door or can be purchased online at: goosefest.eventbrite.com As in the past, 100% of the proceeds from this year’s event will go to a variety of charities including the annual Lt Chris scholarship at Elwood/John Glenn HS; our FDNY Widows & Orphans Fund; Tunnels to Towers; the FDNY Memorial in his name at the Rock FDNY training center; and other worthy causes that support Long Island’s first responders who are tragically lost in service. Please help us spread the word and we hope to see you there! For more information, contact John N. Raguso @ 631-774-9519.
