(AP) — Imagine — a automaker telling owners NOT to drive their vehicles. But that’s what Mercedes-Benz is doing. It has told owners of more than 292,000 vehicles in the U.S. to stop driving them — because of a problem that could cause the brakes to fail. The German carmaker says it will offer free towing to owners so they can get their vehicles repaired. The recall covers certain ML, GL and R-Class vehicles from the 2006 through 2012 model years.
